Since the rollout of China’s first domestically developed RV in 2001, the country’s RV industry has evolved for over two decades. In 2014, the F.I.C.C. World RV Camping Rally was held in China for the first time, marking a key milestone in the industry’s internationalization. In 2018, China’s annual RV registrations exceeded the 10,000-unit mark for the first time. According to the latest data from Road Group, China’s total RV registrations in 2025 reached approximately 23,600 units, a year-on-year increase of 24.5%, with total ownership standing at about 269,400 units.

In terms of product mix, towable RVs accounted for around 5.5% of the market in 2025. Camper van registrations reached 6,374 units, a surge of over 56.5% year-on-year. New energy RVs saw explosive growth, with their market share jumping to 17.49%, accelerating the industry’s transition toward green and smart mobility. China has become Asia’s largest RV market and the world’s third-largest producer (after the U.S. and Germany).

In 2025, China's export value of RV parts exceeded RMB 55 billion, accounting for 28–30% of the global market share. The combined overseas shipment of RV vehicles and parts surpassed 100,000 units (sets), with the export-to-domestic ratio exceeding 5:1. The market size of the RV industry chain broke through RMB 100 billion. China has become the "hidden champion" in global RV parts manufacturing and export.

In November 2025, the Awards Ceremony for the Top 100 Most Popular RV Campgrounds Among RV Owners was held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), attracting over 310 campgrounds nationwide and more than 1.53 million votes.
